National Hurricane Center update: Hanna heading towards Southeast US Coast

** Hanna:
- Location: 24.0 N 72.8 W, moving towards NW near 12mph from 20.2 N 72.2 W, heading N at 2mph on 9/03
- Max sustained winds: 70 mph from 60 mph
- Min central pressure: 990 mb from 993 mb
- Hurricane watch is in effect from Surf City, NC southwestward to north of Edisto Beach, SC

** Ike:
- Location: 22.7 N 55.8 W, moving toward W-NW near 17 mph from 20.6 N 49.6 W, heading W-NW at 18 mph on 9/03
- Max sustained winds: 145 mph up from 65 mph
- Min central pressure: Very low at 935 mb from 996 mb
- A gradual turn toward the W and W-SW is expected over next couple days, it is still too early to determine which land areas might eventually be affected by Ike.

** Josephine
- Location: 14.2 N 31.3 W, moving toward the West-Northwest near 10mph. A W-NW motion is expected for the next couple of days
- Max sustained winds at mph 60mph
- Min Central pressure 997 mb
