Intel Corp WSJ comments on Intel's technology, which allows PCs to be powered up remotely

- The technology, which can be used with PC-based phone services and can allow computers to be remotedly activated to receive Internet content.
- The name of the technology is called Remote Wake and it can only be used on forthcoming desktop computers that use a recently introduced chip set from Intel.
- In order for the Intel technology to work, PCs must be in suspend mode.
- On example of how Remote Wake works its when a Web-enabled cellphone is used to wake up a machine and retrieve documents.
- Intels partners on the project include Cyberlink and Orb Networks.
**Reminder Citrix owns the extremly popular remote PC service called Gotomypc.com which has been a large part of its recent growth story and margin expansion.
